How to Set Up a Video Ad to display on your Indie Website

Learn how to set up a video ad for your website using a video URL to enhance your advertiser's digital campaigns.

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up a video advertisement on your website. Whether you are running a seasonal promotion or a year-round campaign, follow these steps to integrate video content into your ad zones.

Step 1: Create or Select Your Campaign

Organization is key when managing advertisements.

  1. Navigate to your Advertiser profile.

  2. Add or select a Campaign (e.g., "Advertiser Campaign 2026").

    • Tip: Using year-specific names allows you to manage recurring annual campaigns more effectively.

  3. Click into the specific campaign to begin adding ad items.

Step 2: Configure the Ad Item

Once inside the campaign:

  1. Click Ad Items.

  2. Select Native Custom Rendering and API as the ad type.

  3. Provide a Name for the ad and enter the Destination URL (the website the user will land on when they click the ad).

  4. Then choose the template called Display: Video Ad with Logo.

Step 3: Required Assets

To complete the setup, you will need the following information from the advertiser:

  • Description: A few short words describing the video or ad.

  • Logo: A PNG file is recommended for the best quality.

  • Video URL: We require a URL rather than a raw video file. The video can be hosted on the advertiser’s website or a platform like YouTube or Vimeo.

Step 4: Placement and Ad Zones

Once the details are entered, you can adjust the size and assign the ad to an Ad Zone to display on your website.
