Why should I provide my tax ID?
Learn why adding your EIN or tax ID to RevEngine boosts organization credibility and helps contributors with tax-deductible receipts.
While creating an account, you’ll need to enter your organization’s tax ID, also known as the Employer Identification Number (EIN).
While it is optional for for-profit organizations to add this ID, we highly encourage nonprofit organizations to do so.
Where is my tax ID used?
When a contribution page is created, placeholder text in the footer provides a suggested place for your tax ID. Your tax ID also will be used in the following places:
- Scheduled payment emails
- Payment Receipts
Why is it beneficial to provide your tax ID?
Providing your tax ID:
- Serves as proof of your organization’s tax status, increasing the credibility to contributors
- Makes it easier for contributors to report tax-deductible contributions while filing their taxes.
- Gives contributors quick access to the information they’ll need for matching gift requests.
