Why is it taking so long to connect to Stripe?
Learn how to check your Stripe account verification status on RevEngine and what to do while waiting for your page to go live.
A critical step of getting started on RevEngine is creating a Stripe account to use on our platform.
Though this step should take you just a few minutes during your RevEngine signup, Stripe could take up to 24 hours to verify your account once you submit all of your information.
You’ll still be able to build a contribution page and explore RevEngine features while your verification is pending. You just won’t be able to publish your contribution page or collect payments until it’s complete.
What is happening
The Stripe verification is for your protection. Stripe wants to make sure they can reach your bank and verify that the business details you provided match what’s on file with the IRS.
While your verification is still pending, RevEngine might prompt you to connect to Stripe. You don’t need to complete this process again – the prompt will go away when your verification is complete.
If you’ve completed the Stripe connection but still see the Connect to Stripe call-to-action in the right corner of the Engine dashboard, this means that Stripe is still verifying your account. You can click Connect Now to see your verification status in Stripe.
If you do not see the call-to-action, but the Publish button is your page editor isn’t enabled yet, that’s another sign that your Stripe verification is still pending. You can exit the page editor and refresh your RevEngine dashboard to make the Connect to Stripe pop-up appear again so you can check your verification status.
What can I do
Just because you’re waiting on Stripe doesn’t mean you can’t start creating your new contribution page.
You can minimize the Connect to Stripe box - it will still show the Stripe logo in the right corner - and begin to build your new page.
Once your verification is complete, the call-to-action will disappear and the Publish button in the top right will be yellow. At that point, you’ll be able to publish contribution pages.
