What does a default contribution page do?

Discover the role of your RevEngine default contribution page, from template branding for emails to providing a shortened URL.

If you are a RevEngine Core or a RevEngine + Salesforce user, you will find a default contribution page among those displayed in your dashboard.

This type of page has several properties that help with improving navigation and branding in RevEngine. If you need help finding your default page, see How do I know which is my default contribution page? .

Use in branding

Your default contribution page’s styles also serv as the ‘template’ for the styles used in your Thank You page, your contributors' portal, and transactional emails sent after a payment someone completes a gift.

To change the styles used in these interactions with contributors, simply change the font or color of your default contribution page.

Shortened link

For newsrooms with long page URLs, it can be beneficial to have a condensed URL to use when sharing your main contribution page.

For example, if this were your default contribution page: https://yourname.com/support-our-journalism

Contributors would also be able to access it through this shortened URL:
https://excellentnews.yourname.com/
