Revising your Stripe radar rules
An overview of Stripe Radar rules for fraud protection and automated Revenue Recovery settings to minimize failed payments and secure organization revenue.
Please check out Stripe’s documentation as well: Fraud prevention rules
Stripe’s radar rules are a set of adjustable fraud protection measures that can be set on your Stripe account. Payments in violation of these rules will be blocked and show up in your dashboard as failed contributions.
These rules can include:
- Blocking contributions whose ip Address doesn’t match the provided zip code
- Blocking payments made incorrect CVC (Card Verification Code)
- Blocking payments on Stripe’s blacklist
- Blocking high-risk contributions
Some of these rules are automatically enabled when you create a new account. If you migrated to RevEngine from a different Stripe-based platform and are seeing a high volume of failed contributions, this may caused by differences in radar rules settings between your new and old account.
We don’t recommend changing the radar rules settings on your NRE-linked Stripe account - they’re configured to protect you from fraud.
Stripe Revenue Recovery Settings
Wee recommend that you have Stripe Revenue Recovery Emails set up so that contributors will be automatically notified of their failed payments. This allows them to put a new credit card on file and can prevent revenue loss for you.
Support on payment errors
If you are seeing one or more payment errors / failures that you don’t believe is being caused by Stripe radar rules, please let our team know at support@indiegraf.com.
