Product Demo: Intro to Analytics
Learn how to use Indiegraf analytics to track site traffic, visitor metrics, referrers, and advanced campaign data for better audience insights.
Understanding Your Website Analytics
The Analytics section of your Indiegraf website provides a comprehensive view of your site's data and traffic patterns. By navigating to Analytics in the left sidebar, you can access detailed insights into how visitors interact with your content.
At-a-Glance Insights
The main analytics dashboard provides an immediate overview of several key areas:
- Site Traffic: Monitor overall visitor activity.
- Top Pages: See which specific pages your visitors are viewing most frequently.
- Visitor Locations: Identify the geographic areas from which people are accessing your site.
- New vs. Returning Users: Understand the breakdown between first-time visitors and returning sessions.
Key Site Metrics
When you scroll down, you will find several critical metrics that define your site's performance:
- Visitors: The number of unique users who visit your site.
- Views: The total number of page loads recorded. Note that a single visitor can trigger multiple page views.
- Sessions: The total number of individual visits to your site within a specific timeframe.
- Average Duration: The average length of time a user spends during a session.
- Bounce Rate: The percentage of sessions where a user only views one page and then leaves without further navigation.
By default, these metrics show data from the last seven days. You can use the settings in the top right of this section to change the time frame, such as viewing data for the last 30 days.
Detailed Data Categories
The left sidebar within the analytics page allows you to dive deeper into specific data points:
- Referrers: See which external sites, search engines, or social platforms are sending traffic to your pages.
- Geographic Data: Review the specific countries, regions, and cities where your visitors are located.
- Devices: Identify the types of devices, browsers, and operating systems your audience uses.
- Pages & Landing Pages: Determine your most popular articles and identify the specific pages where visitors first enter your site.
Advanced Tracking Tools
Indiegraf’s analytics tool also supports advanced tracking to help you measure engagement and conversions:
- Campaign Tracking: Use UTM links with short tags to identify which specific ads, posts, or emails are driving the most traffic.
- Click Tracking: Measure how often visitors interact with specific buttons, banners, or links to understand what captures their attention.
- Form Submissions: Track when visitors complete contact forms or sign up for newsletters to accurately measure conversion rates.
