Link your EMS with Mailchimp
Learn how to connect your EMS with your Mailchimp account.
Hearken form and poll embeds include “opt-in” features which allow you to ask audience members to subscribe to your email newsletters. If you have those “opt-in” features turned on, you can connect your Hearken EMS to Mailchimp. Our Mailchimp integration automatically subscribes people to your Mailchimp email list when they have checked an opt-in box on your embeds. For Mailchimp users, this will eliminate the steps of downloading a CSV file of email addresses and importing them into your Mailchimp distribution lists.
When you first set up your integration, all emails in your system with the opt-in box checked will be sent over to Mailchimp.
Here’s how to set up a Mailchimp integration

Navigate to the Platform Settings menu by clicking on the Hearken logo the top left of the EMS, selecting "Manage Team," and then "Platform Settings."

Select Connect Services. This will bring you to the Connect Services page where you can connect your MailChimp account with your Hearken EMS

Click the button that says Connect to start the integration.

A pop-up will appear with directions explaining how to find your API Key in Mailchimp. Follow those directions, enter your API Key in the pop-up, and click Save.

From the Connect Services page, click the New Rule button.

From the drop-down menu, select the name of the email list to which you would like to add email addresses. Click Next.

From here the pop-up will ask you to Align your data. Click on the drop-down menu for First Name and select “First Name” from the options listed. Repeat for the Last Name drop-down. Click Save. This step tells Mailchimp how to import the First Name and Last Name collected from your form embed.

Repeat steps 5-8 for every Mailchimp list to which you would like to subscribe your Hearken-engaged audience members.
