🧑‍💻 Adding and Managing Users in Your Indie Website

Hi! In this video, I will show you how to add and manage users in your Indie website.

Let's begin by looking at how to add a new user.

➕ How to Add a New User

  1. We can add a new user to your site through your dashboard menu.

  2. Go down to Users and then click on Add New User.

  3. Once here, fill in the following fields, making sure you complete the required ones: Username, Email, and Password.

  4. For the password section, we strongly encourage you to use our "Generate Password" button. This will give you a very strong and safe password.

  5. There are also a lot of other fields that are not required, but we encourage you to fill out as many as you can.

🖼️ Understanding User Profile Fields

Next, let's learn about user profile fields.

  1. For this section, go down to the bottom to the section titled "User Profile Fields".

  2. These fields are shared on the author pages and on the User List design block.

  3. So, if you're planning to use either of these, be sure to add their profile picture, their biography, and toggle on any of the social media they would like to display.

✏️ How to Edit User Profiles

Finally, let's take a look at how to edit your profiles.

  1. You can edit your profiles by navigating to Users and then Profile in your dashboard.

  2. Here, you can make changes to your existing information.

  3. Something to note is that once a new user is created, their username cannot be changed (as you can see here, it's grayed out).

  4. Once you make the changes you want, don't forget to click on the "Update Profile" button at the very bottom and save all your changes!
