How to Creating a Post or Page with a Custom Sidebar
Learn how to create a post or page with a custom sidebar! 📝Turn off the default sidebar, use a Columns block, and add content to your wide article and thin custom sidebar.
This guide will show you how to set up a post layout that features a custom-built sidebar using columns.
Step 1: Access Post Settings ⚙️

From your website dashboard, navigate to Post and then All Posts.

Create a New Post.
Step 2: Configure Layout Settings 🖼️
Once you are in the post editor, adjust the post's main layout settings:

Locate the Layout Settings for the post (often found in the document settings panel).

Set the container to Wide.

Turn off the existing sidebar to ensure that the default sidebar does not appear, allowing you to use your custom one.
Step 3: Build the Page Structure with Columns 🏗️
Use the Columns block to create the main body and the custom sidebar area:

Add a Columns block to the post.

Select a column layout that features a wider section on the left-hand side (for the main article) and a thinner section on the right-hand side (for your custom sidebar).
Step 4: Add Content to the Columns ✍️
Now you can populate the columns with your desired content blocks:

Left Column (Main Article):

Add any blocks you need to include your main story, such as a Header block, Paragraph blocks, and Image blocks.

Right Column (Custom Sidebar):

This is your custom sidebar. Use any existing blocks to build it out, such as a contact form, a list of recent posts, an advertisement, or a short bio.

Step 5: Review the Final Post Appearance 👀
Once you've added all your content, preview the post. The final result should look like this:

Your article content will be displayed in the wider section on the left.

Your custom sidebar content will be displayed in the thinner section on the right.
