Indie Website is a powerful platform purpose built for content businesses following best practices for what we’ve seen work with Indiegraf partner publishers. As with all software solutions, the Indie Website has limitations. In this document, you’ll find some examples of what can and can’t be done.

Please keep in mind that these guidelines are a work in progress, as the implementation and development teams continue to assess new challenges as they come up. Feature requests are reviewed by the team and evaluated based on the impact to the network as a whole. We encourage you to submit ideas for features here.

😍 Here’s what we can do

  • We can make changes to the colors and fonts of your website.
  • We can change/update header and footer navigation items,
  • We can add/update partner logos in the footer.
  • We can update sidebar copy and elements.
  • We can provide support to publishers in creating new pages using our standard blocks.
  • We can provide support for creating new pages, new categories, and custom taxonomies.
  • We can create Inline, pop-up and slide-in CTAs and connect them to your Indie Email or Mailchimp account.
  • We can create forms (for example: pitch a story, contact us).

😞 Here’s what we can’t do

  • Indie Website does not support publisher added third-party software or plugins. This is to prevent theme conflicts and to minimize the number of integrations to ensure website performance.
  • The design and structure of Indie Website’s main templates cannot be edited.
  • Indie Website does not support any custom code, nor can the Indiegraf team provide custom coding support. We can provide access to Google Tag Manager upon request but we are not able to support you in troubleshooting this tool.
  • After migration, we can’t support the publisher in restructuring their content’s categories and tags.
  • Publishers are granted the Editor role which provides full access to your content and Indie Website features. Publishers are not able to manage plugins.
