Product Demo: Automations Recurring Journey
Learn how to use Indiegraf's Single and Recurring Journeys to automate welcome series and scheduled RSS email updates for your audience.
Creating Automations: Single vs. Recurring Journeys
When creating an automation on your Indiegraf website, you now have the choice between two different types of journeys: Single Journeys and Recurring Journeys.
Single Journeys
A single journey is the classic type of automation used to automate a series of actions based on a specific trigger. Once a contact meets the trigger criteria, they go through the automation steps and then exit.
Common uses for single journeys include:
- Welcome Email Series: Automatically greeting new subscribers.
- Email Courses: Delivering educational content over time.
- Tag-Based Triggers: Sending specific information when a contact is tagged in a certain way.
Recurring Journeys
A recurring journey is a series of actions automated on a specific schedule. This feature is particularly useful for setting up RSS automated emails. It monitors your website for new content and automatically sends an email to your audience whenever a new post is detected.
How to Set Up an RSS Automated Email
To create an RSS automation, select the Recurring Journey option and follow these steps:
- Select a Template: Choose the RSS feed monitoring and sending email template to automatically populate the required steps.
- Define the Trigger: Set the frequency and the specific day you want your email to be sent.
- Specify Item Count: Choose how many new items must be present before a campaign is triggered. For example, you can set the automation to check for new items every Monday and only send if new content is found.
- Customize the Campaign: Tailor the appearance and layout of your email to match your brand.
- Store RSS Items: This final step is crucial for the automation to function correctly. This action saves the latest RSS item featured in your campaign at the time of execution, ensuring that the same content is not repeated in your next email.
