Manage your website's front page content. This guide shows you how to use the block inserter and sidebar editor to update your homepage layout and sections.


 

🌐 Managing Your Website's Homepage

The homepage is the front of your website. You can easily manage and customize its content directly from your website's dashboard.

Accessing the Homepage

  1. From your dashboard, select your Homepage. It is already set as your front page.

Adding New Content Blocks (Widgets)

Currently, the homepage may only feature basic blocks, such as "Featured Posts" and an "About the Publisher" section. To add more sections you want to highlight:

  1. Go to the block inserter (usually located in the upper left corner).

  2. Select and insert the content block you wish to add to your homepage.

Available Content Blocks to Insert:

  • Ad Zone: Allows selection for a Header, Sidebar, or Archive post.

  • About: A section like the current "About the Publisher."

  • Accordion: A block to display collapsable accordion items.

  • Feature Post

  • Latest Post

  • Progress Bar: Great for showing readers your progress towards a specific goal (e.g., supporter goal).

  • Recirculation Block: Displays a past article you want to draw more attention to.

Once added, the new block will be visible to your readers, directing more traffic to your featured content.

Example: You could add a Recirculation Block right below the Latest Posts section.

Editing Content Blocks

You can edit the settings for any content block you've added using the sidebar editor.

  1. On the sidebar, you can either edit the page settings itself or the settings for each block.

  2. To edit a specific block (e.g., the Feature Post block), simply click on the block on your homepage editor.

  3. The sidebar will immediately display the available options to edit that block.

Editing the "Latest Post" Block:

  • Filter Content: Change the content type shown (e.g., Post, Page, or Event).

  • Categories: Select which specific categories you want to display.

  • Post Count: Decide the number of posts to highlight.

  • Section Title: Change the title of the section.

  • Colors: Modify the block's colors.

  • Visibility Options: Choose to show or hide the post's category, date, or author information.

For blocks like the "Recirculation Block," you can similarly click the block to change the section title and select the type of post you want to add.
