📅 Managing Your Event Settings and Creating a New Event
In this video, you'll learn how to create an event on your website. We'll start by looking at your Events Page URL.
Customizing Your Events Page Link
By default, your website's events page link is your website's address followed by a dash and the word "events." You can easily change this default text:
-
Go to your Dashboard.
-
Navigate to Events, then Settings.
-
On the Events Settings page, select the General tab.
-
Scroll down to the Viewing section.
-
Find the first option, Events URL slug, and update it from the current default of "events" to your preferred text.
Creating a New Event
Now, let's learn how to create a new event:
-
Go back to your Dashboard.
-
Navigate to Events, then select Add New.
-
You are now on the 'Add New' page. Take your time to fill out the necessary information, starting with:
-
Your title
-
The content (You can also add media here if desired.)
-
The Events Calendar: You must fill out the date and time of your event.
-
The location: It's very important to add the correct address for it to display properly.
-
-
You can also choose to display the map and a map link.
-
Further down, you can add organizers, an event website, an event cost, and other details.
Publishing Your New Event
On the right side of the screen, you will find the Publish box:
-
This is where you will publish your new event once all information is complete.
-
Status Options: You can change the event's status from the default "Draft" to "Pending Review" or "Publish."
-
Visibility Options: You can change the visibility from the default "Public" to "Password protected" or "Private."
-
Publishing Option: You can choose to publish the event immediately or set a specific date and time for it to be published automatically.
