Indie Email: How to Delete an Email Segment

Learn how to delete email segments without losing your contacts. Follow these simple steps to clean up your dashboard and manage your contact lists.

Deleting a segment is a quick way to clean up your dashboard without losing your valuable lead data. This process removes the filter (segment) but does not delete the individual contacts within that segment.

Overview

Segments are dynamic views of your contact list. When you delete a segment, you are simply removing that specific grouping, while all associated contacts remain in your "All Contacts" list.

Steps to Delete a Segment

  1. Navigate to Email: From the main dashboard menu on the left-hand side, click on Email.

  2. Open Contacts: In the upper right-hand corner of the email screen, click the Contacts button.

  3. View All Segments: Under the "All Contacts" header, select the option to View All Segments.

  4. Select Action: Locate the segment you wish to remove. On the right-hand side of the segment name, you will see options for "Edit" or "Delete."

  5. Click Delete.

  6. Verify: You can refresh your page and check "All Contacts" to confirm the segment is gone while your total contact count remains the same.

Note: Deleting a segment is permanent for the dashboard view, but it never impacts your main contact list.
