💻 Your First Native Native Ad: Setup and Quality Check

Native ads are designed to resemble the style of the content they are placed in, making them blend seamlessly. They are commonly used in newsletters or within articles and match the look, feel, and function of their surrounding space.

This guide walks you through building, previewing, and quality-checking a native ad within our platform.

1. Create the Campaign

  1. Navigate to your advertiser profile (e.g., Quick Start Advertiser).

  2. Click Add a new campaign.

  3. Select a Standard campaign.

  4. Make the campaign specific to Email (or your desired channel).

  5. All other fields can remain as default for now.

  6. Click Create campaign.

2. Build the Native Ad Item

Within the new campaign, you will add your native ad item.

  • Select the Native Custom Render API option.

    • Note: This option is preferred over 'Native Styled' as it offers more flexibility, allowing for integration of JavaScript, images, and other forms, whereas 'Native Styled' uses strictly HTML code.

  2. Selecting the template will automatically load the required code for the ad. No further editing is required in the code block itself.

Customize the Ad Creative

Use the following fields to customize the appearance and copy:

  • Main Color: Define the primary color, usually based on your branding guidelines.

  • Image: Upload the image for the ad.

  • Header/Title: Add the main title or header copy.

  • Copy/Body Text:

    • Enter the accompanying text for the ad in the subsequent fields.

    • Tip: Line 1 typically represents the first paragraph, and Line 2 the second.

  • Call to Action (CTA): Provide the text for the ad's button (e.g., "Learn More").

  1. Once all fields are filled, click Save the ad item.

3. Preview and Quality Check

  1. Your new ad item should now be active. Click the preview option to see what the ad looks like.

  2. Review the Layout:

    • Confirm the Sponsor Title and Header are correct.

    • Check that the ad copy and CTA display properly.

    • Verify the size of the ad item is correct.

  3. Perform a Quality Check (QC):

    • The most critical QC step is to click the ad in the preview window to ensure it successfully navigates to the Destination URL.

  4. If edits are needed, click Save and Edit to return to the configuration screen.
