How to Create and Manage a "Meet the Team" Page
Learn how to create a "Meet the Team" page, use the Users List block to organize staff, and update user bios and photos in your dashboard.
A "Meet the Team" page is a great way to introduce your writers, board members, and contributors to your audience. This guide walks you through creating the page, adding staff members, and updating individual profiles.
Step 1: Create the Team Page
To get started, you need to create a new page on your website to host your team directory.
-
Navigate to Pages > All Pages in your dashboard.
-
Select Add New Page.
-
Give your page a title (e.g., "Meet the Team" or "Our Staff").
-
(Optional) Add a paragraph block to describe the purpose of the page or introduce your publication.
Step 2: Use the "Users List" Block
The Users List block allows you to categorize and display specific groups of people.
-
On your new page, add the Users List block.
-
Organize by Groups: You can use multiple blocks to create sections. For example, create one block for "Writers" and another for "Board Members."
-
Add Users: Click the plus (+) sign within the block to add a new user slot.
-
Select the User: Click into the specific user slot. On the right-hand settings sidebar, use the "User Selection" dropdown menu to choose the person you want to display.
-
Repeat this process for all team members, then Publish or Update the page.
Step 3: Edit User Profiles
The information displayed on the Team Page (like photos, titles, and bios) is pulled directly from the individual's user profile.
-
Go to Users > All Users in your main dashboard.
-
Use the search field to find the specific person you want to edit.
-
Click Edit User.
-
Scroll down to the User Profile Fields to update the following:
-
Profile Picture: Upload a professional headshot.
-
Title & Biography: Add their professional role and a short blurb.
-
Pronouns: Select or enter preferred pronouns.
-
Social Media & Contact: Toggle on/off links for Public Email, Website, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads, and more.
-
Note: Any changes made here will automatically update both the "Meet the Team" page and the individual's author profile page.
5. Click Update Profile at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
