How to add CAPTCHA to forms
Learn how to add a CAPTCHA to forms to deter bots and spam.
CAPTCHA is a challenge-response test that helps determine if an entry is from a human and helps deter spam created by bots.
We highly recommend that publishers include CAPTCHA on all website forms. In this article, we'll explore how to add a CAPTCHA to a form.
Configuring the CAPTCHA settings
To configure the CAPTCHA settings,
-
Go to Google reCAPTCHA to register your website.
-
Add a Label, for example, "mysite.com"
-
Under reCaptcha type, choose Challenge (V2) > "I'm not a robot Checkbox"
-
Then, under Domains, add your domain. Please do not include any protocol, path, port, query or fragment.
-
Submit to register your website.
-
After you click submit, a new page that includes your Site Key and Secret Key will load, which you will add to your Indie Website.
-
Login to your Indie Website Admin.
-
Go to Forms > Settings > reCaptcha.
-
Copy and paste the Site Key and Secret Key into the corresponding fields.
-
Under Type, choose Checkbox.
-
Click Save Settings to update.
Adding a CAPTCHA to a form
To add a CAPTCHA to a form,
-
Forms > Forms, then choose an existing form you wish to edit.

Use the Search field and search for 'CAPTCHA', or scroll down to the Advanced Fields.
-
Once the CAPTCHA block is visible, you can drag and drop it onto the form. We recommend adding it just above the Submit button.
