Newly created pages include a field for a phone number as part of your data collection. However, this field is optional and not required to make a contribution. In the interest of a more frictionless experience, you can remove the phone number field altogether. ### **Removing the phone number field** To remove the phone number prompt: 1. Sign in at [RevEngine](https://engine.fundjournalism.org/sign-in) 2. Select the page you’d like to edit from the **Pages** section of your RevEngine dashboard 3. Select the **Layout** tab 4. Find the **Contributor Info** block and click on its edit icon 5. Deselect the switch labeled **Ask for phone number?** 6. Update changes to the block before saving your page by selecting the **Save** icon This will prevent contributors from submitting their phone numbers while making payments.
