How do I publish a contribution page?
A guide on publishing your RevEngine contribution page, customizing its live URL, and copying the link to share on social media or email.
Once you finish building a page and save it in our page editor, it still won’t be live. This is by design. We don’t want contributors to see incomplete or time-sensitive pages until you confirm they are ready to publish.
In this article, you will learn how to publish your pages, so that you can be in complete control over the content your contributors see.
You will not be able to publish your page until you connect your RevEngine account to Stripe. To learn more about connecting your RevEngine account to Stripe, please see our tutorial.
Publishing your page
- Select the contribution page you want to publish from the Pages section of the RevEngine dashboard
- Click on the edit icon to enable editing mode
The Publish button can be found at the top-right corner of your page editor. If it is not clickable, your account still needs to be integrated with Stripe. If the button is active, you can publish your page.
You will be prompted to configure your live page URL, which has three components: your site name, the site domain, and your page name. This URL is pre-populated based on your company name, but you can make changes.
How to generate page links
After publishing your page, you will have the ability to grab links to client-facing pages.
To share the link to this page with your contributors:
- Click on the Grab Link button on the top bar of your page editor
- Click Copy next to the Contribution Page Link. This will allow you to paste the link as you would any other text.
- Add the link to any pertinent calls to action on the site, social media, or in email marketing to start driving traffic to your new contribution page.
Confirming your page’s publication
You will know if your page has been successfully published by the appearance of a Published button at the top bar of the editor.
You may click this button to quickly view your live contribution page. Content displayed here perfectly matches what your contributors see when they make a contribution.
