When you create a contribution page, it includes a phone number field. In alignment with best practices, this field is optional to contributors by default. However, if this data is important to your organization, you can make the field mandatory. This would require all contributors to provide their phone number before submitting their payment. ### **Requiring phone numbers** To make the phone number field mandatory: 1. Sign in at [RevEngine](https://engine.fundjournalism.org/sign-in) 2. Select the page you’d like to edit from the **Pages** section of your RevEngine dashboard 3. Select the **Layout** tab 4. Find the **Contributor Info** block and click on its edit icon 5. Select **Required to complete contribution** 6. Update changes to the block before saving your page by selecting the **Save** icon Contributors who do not provide a phone number **will not** be allowed to enter their credit card information and complete their payment. -
