Recirculation Block
The recirculation block allows you to add one related article at any point within your post. After adding the block, you can search for which article that will be displayed on the sidebar:
You can also add Pages or Events. For that, make sure "Select a post type" is set to either Pages or Events.
You can also add a custom title to the section on the sidebar, on the "Section Title" field.
User List Block
The User List Block allows you to add people from your team to any page or post. Just search for the "User list" block and select a user from the sidebar:
The User List Block gets data from User profile fields, on Users. If the user has a profile picture and biography, it will appear on the block as well as any social media info.
Check how to add more users below:
Custom HTML Block
The custom HTML block allows you to add custom HTML or JavaScript to your content. You can use the icons in the block toolbar to switch between viewing the source code and the preview. Unlike the code block, the custom HTML block will actually render the inserted code on your site.
The HTML Block is fit for displaying audio and video players from a third party website such as Simplecast and Buzzsprout.
Embeds
You can embed external content (such as YouTube videos or Twitter tweets) into your pages and posts with embeds. Embedding a file pulls it in directly from another website, so you won’t need to upload any files to your media library.
To embed content, simply add a new embed block, paste the location of the content into the URL field, and click the Embed button. As long as the URL you provided is valid, the block will transform to display your chosen content.
Content can be embedded from many different sources, including:
Latest Posts Block
The latest posts block allows you to display a list of the most recent posts on your site. You can display the posts in either a List View or a Grid View using the icons in the block toolbar.
In the settings sidebar, you can find options to:
Show or hide the post content (if you show it, you can also choose between showing the full content or an excerpt);
Show or hide the author names;
Show or hide the post dates;
Show or hide the featured images;
Set the display order;
Select specific categories to display posts from;
Select a specific author to display posts from;
Set the number of posts to display.
RSS Block
The RSS block allows you to display entries from any RSS or Atom feed. This is fit for displaying latest Newsletters Campaigns, for instance. Simply paste the location of the feed into the block’s URL field and click the Use URL button. As long as the URL you provided is valid, the block will transform to display your chosen feed.
In the settings sidebar, you can find options to:
Set the number of RSS entries in the feed (1-10);
Show or hide the author names;
Show or hide the post dates;
Show or hide an excerpt of each entry.
Search Block
The search block allows you to display a search field and button. The default text on the button is “Search” but you can change that by simply clicking on the text and typing in your desired replacement text. You can change the default placeholder text (the text that appears inside the search field when it’s empty) using the same method.
You can change the width of the search bar in the settings sidebar.
Shortcode Block
The shortcode block allows you to insert a shortcode into your content. Shortcodes are snippets of code that allow you to embed files or create custom elements more easily than with regular code. They are used to simplify the integration of plugin-related features to your site. (Depending on your site’s unique functionality, you may never need to use shortcodes or create this type of block.)
Social Icons Block
The social icons block allows you to display a row of social icons that link to your public accounts on those platforms.
Placeholder icons are displayed by default when you create a new block, but you can add more by clicking the Add block icon ( + ) next to the images. To add links, simply click on each icon and enter the URL to your social account page for that platform (ex: https://twitter.com/indiegrafmedia)
To change the order of the icons, click on them and rearrange them using the Move left and Move right icons in the block toolbar.
To remove an icon, click on the icon to select it and then click the More Options icon (⋮) in the block toolbar and select Remove block.
In the settings sidebar, you can find options to:
Change the style of the social icons (Default, Logos Only, or Pill Shape);
Select a default style for any additional social icon blocks you add to the post/page.
