Updated over 3 weeks ago

Indiegraf Pay allows you to collect donations and payment from your readers. Indiegraf Pay gives you more control over the Support Us page with features like a one-click Stripe connection and custom pricing options. With the Pricing Table block, you can also create custom pricing tables with Stripe Payment Links.

The benefits 🎉

  • Create or edit products and prices directly on the backend of your site.

  • One-click Stripe connection to create products directly from your website backend.

  • Test mode to test your payment journey.

  • Custom Amount option for readers to donate a desired amount starting from $5.

  • Identify a tier option as “Most Popular”.

  • Create custom pricing tables.

  • Fully customizable for a unique look and feel.

🔐 Additionally, Indiegraf Pay leverages the Stripe Connect functionality, allowing you to grant access to Indiegraf through a secure linked account. This will provide additional security to your account and simplify sharing your report data.

📌 Stripe Account Required

A Stripe account is required to use Indiegraf Pay. When setting up Indiegraf Pay, you can connect an existing Stripe account or create a new one.

Step 1 - Connecting Stripe

  1. To begin, navigate to Indiegraf Pay in the left sidebar.

  2. Under Step 1, click the Connect with Stripe button. When connecting to Stripe, you can connect an existing account or create a new one. Please follow the prompts to complete the connection.

📌 When creating a new account, Stripe will need information like your business address and phone number. If you are a nonprofit, your government identification, such as an EIN or charity ID, will also be needed. Please have this information available when setting up a new Stripe account.

Test Mode vs Live Mode

Your account will be connected to live mode by default. If you wish to create test products first, you can click “Connect your account in test mode.” Stripe’s test mode allows you to test your integration without making actual charges or payments.

Remember to follow the steps outlined above for Live mode and Test mode separately, as Stripe treats them as separate accounts. Once that is completed, you can switch back and forth between Live and Test modes.

📌 If you disconnect the test mode account, the live mode will remain active until you disconnect it as well. However, disconnecting the Stripe account from the live mode Indiegraf Pay settings will disconnect both the Live and Test modes.

Step 2 - Create Products

Indiegraf Pay allows you to create up to 3 tiers with up to 3 payment options (monthly, yearly, and one-time).

To create a tier,

  1. Add a tier name

  2. Add at least one amount and payment option (monthly, yearly, and one-time).

    • Amounts: For each amount option, you can enter any amount from $5 (minimum) to $5000 (maximum).

  3. Include a description, tier logo and features to highlight the benefits and provide a value statement to your readers.

    • Logo: The logo appears on the pricing table in a square format. PNG, JPG, or WEBP formats are accepted. The file must be under 2MB.

    • Features: Each feature has a limit of 80 characters.

  4. Save to complete the tier setup.

  5. Set the Most Popular Label

    • You can choose a tier and display to display the most popular label. Publishers usually display it on the middle-priced tier, but you can opt for another tier or not display one at all.

6. Add a Custom Amount

  • You can opt to display a custom amount on the support page through the Custom amount toggle, where users can manually select their donation value:

Step 3 - Style your support page

You are now ready to style the support page and review your tiers!

To access your support page, navigate to the Go to support page button. In the editor view of the Support page, review and adjust the following settings:

  1. At the top of the page, upload your logo and customize your donation appeal message:

2. In the pricing table settings, you can hide certain recurrencies, customize the calls to action, and the Most Popular label.

3. Verify that the “Checkout page URL” points to the correct page.

4. Customize the appearance of the pricing table by customizing your preferred brand colours.

5. Change the Yoast Advanced setting to allow Google bot indexing under Yoast SEO > Advanced.

6. Customize or remove the “Message from our founder section” with information about your publication or a donation appeal.

Pricing Table Block

Want to build something different? With the Pricing Table block, you can create a custom pricing table. This allows you to manually set products and prices using Stripe Payment Links, instead of Indiegraf Pay checkout. You can offer multiple monthly options, options for large donors, or other unique pricing structures. For Pelcro users, this feature allows publishers to offer an alternative to the default popup.

The flexible pricing table is a block that can be added to a page. It allows for manual configuration of tabs, prices, images, and links to Stripe checkout pages or Pelcro models. Publishers can add as many tabs and pricing options as they want. The configuration also includes setting a default tab.

In the editor view of the Support page, review and adjust the following settings:
